Hi I'm David

I grew up as a Mormon in Florida

About Me

Hey! I'm 25 years old and studying communications I grew up in Florida and loved surfing and playing sports. I'm one of 7 kids. I served as a missionary in Boston Massachusetts for two years and had the greatest experiences of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, lets face it, I grew up a member of this church, but that isn't why I am a member now. At some point I realized that while my parent's believed in this gospel, I needed to know for myself whether or not all of this was true. I thought it out(and have continued to do so over time) and took it to God. I know that I received an answer from God through his Holy Spirit that this church was(and is) His church and that it contained the path that he wanted me to walk. Basically this path makes me happy. I know that what I am doing is what God wants me to do...The feeling that I am always doing the right thing in God's eyes is more reassuring than anything else in my life. I know that our Heavenly Father has called a prophet and that our Father leads us today through the prophet. I have come to understand Christ and His sacrifice better through the Book of Mormon and the teachings of modern prophets. I know and can testify that this truth is not only available to me. I know that anyone who seeks to know the things that I know will receive the same answers from our Heavenly Father that these things are true. I do not believe that He is a God of confusion...instead I believe that he wants us all to know the truth to follow and the path to take.

How I live my faith

I hope that I live my faith in everything I do. Let's face it, I fall short just like everyone else at times, but I do hope to follow our Father in all things. While I try to live my faith in all things that I do, there are some specific things that I do. First of all, I go to church each Sunday. I have a responsibility within our congregation to organize activities for a group of people each Monday night. We get together and fellowship and get to know each other while we have fun. I also read my scriptures every day. Even if I only have time to read one chapter(which happens pretty frequently), I feel closer to the Lord when I read the scriptures. I make sure to pray on my knees twice a day and I try keep a constant line of communication open with God throughout everything I do.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Nope :). I'm not married, but when I am I'll only have one wife! There was a time in early church history where certain people were chosen to take care of more than one woman, but that was long long ago. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is similar to the Bible in the fact that it is the writing of prophets. We know that the Bible was written in the area surrounding Jerusalem. While God did love those people, he had other children that he loved and communicated with. The Book of Mormon is a testimony of our Heavenly Father's communication with the people in America from 600 BC to 400 AD. I know its true and that through this book our testimony of Jesus Christ can be strengthened. Show more Show less
