Hi I'm Kristina

I'm a mother, a wife, a model, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of two boys and one girl, and the wife of one amazing man. I grew up in Georgia, and though I thought I would end up living somewhere far away, my world travels brought me right back to where I started. I started modeling when I was 15 years old. I spent summers in NYC, but worked mostly in Atlanta. At 19 I traveled to Milan, Italy. After modeling there for several months I decided to close that chapter of my life for a while. I went to college in Utah and majored in psychology because I hoped to learn how to help people, especially those with a poor self-image. I had planned on getting my PhD, but have since decided to stay home and raise my kids before I pursue things that will occupy large amounts of my time. I love my kids and I want to be an ever-present part of their lives. I still do a little modeling from time to time just for fun, but for the most part I am a stay-at-home mom. I also volunteer as a member of my neighborhood's advisory committee, and I help at church whenever I am needed. I love my life and everyone who is a part of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me want to be my best self. Through my faith in the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ I feel the supporting hand of my Savior pushing me towards the great potential He knows I am capable of. Though I see new imperfections in myself daily, my testimony inspires me and motivates me to try to overcome them. I am a Mormon because it helps me see the best in others. We are all sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. Though it is difficult at times, I try to see others as the Lord sees them. Sometimes the only thing it takes to elicit change in someone else is kindness. I am a Mormon because I believe that God loves us enough to give us modern day prophets. I believe that Thomas S. Monson is that prophet today. And I believe that we each have a calling in this life to seek out the truthfulness of the Gospel and then testify of it to others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. I attend church every Sunday. I volunteer to serve in different capacities at church. I teach my own children about the importance of the gospel and how it blesses their lives. I say personal prayers everyday as well as family prayers with my husband and kids. I try to read the scriptures everyday. I avoid things that are harmful to the body and/or spirit such as addictive substances, movies and television that promote violence, promiscuity, and swearing. I want my home to be a haven for my family where they can feel safe and loved.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Kristina
The purpose of this life is progression. This earthly life is a stepping stone in the progression of our life throughout the eternities. Life does not end after we die. There is more work to be done. We are here on this earth to learn and grow, make mistakes and correct them, find happiness through sorrow, have a family and love them, and most importantly find Christ and then guide others to Him, so that we can be prepared for what is to come. Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Kristina
We don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol because they have addictive substances in them. We believe that its important to always be in control of your mind and body. When the mind and body is overcome by an addiction you lose control of your free agency and begin to make decisions based on your addiction instead of what is most important for you and your family. What may have started out innocently can quickly lead to pain and heartache for you and those you love. The same holds true for other addictive behaviors such as smoking, drugs, gambling, and pornography. It is best to simply avoid these temptations. As far as a proper diet is concerned, we believe that foods should be consumed in moderation for the same reasons mentioned above. Your body was given to you by God, so it is important to take good care of it. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Kristina
The authors of the Book of Mormon are ancient prophets who lived in the America's in the time surrounding the coming of Christ. A man named Mormon abridged these prophets' records and his abridgment became what is called the Book of Mormon. He hid the book so that one day, when the Lord saw fit, the Book of Mormon could be used in conjunction with the Bible as another testament of Jesus Christ. The Lord chose Joseph Smith Jr. to recover the book (written on gold plates), and then translate it from its ancient script into his modern language. Now we can all benefit from its valuable teachings. Show more Show less
