Hi I'm Joshua

I am a disciple of Christ. I am a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in California and have grown up in the Bay Area. I am the second oldest of 4 children. I attended college and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Psychology at the age of 18. I enjoy learning, teaching, and helping those around me because it reflects the best of what we can do to better ourselves and those we love. I'm interested in many activities and hobbies which has ranged from RC cars, biking, and boy scouts, to ham radio operating and speech and communication consultation. I've always been driven to achieve and excel; mediocrity is never an option. I am now serving as a missionary in the Utah Ogden Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I love every day here serving my Savior and Redeemer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS or Mormon church by my parents who had been members as well. I have always had a belief in the gospel and teachings that the church espouses and did my best to learn and to live them. But as with everyone who grows up within a religion or belief system, I came to the cross-roads where I really did wonder if it all made sense, if Joseph Smith, the prophet through whom God restored His gospel and authority, really was a prophet, and that the Book of Mormon which he translated was the word of God. I can tell you this moment, however, that through reading that book and asking God directly if it is true that I have found without a doubt in my mind or heart that Jose Smith was a prophet, that the Book of Mormon came about the way he said it did, and that the church that espouses it is in fact the Church of Jesus Christ that He established to perfect the saints of the latter-days in preparation for the second coming of our Savior and Redeemer. Every aspect of the gospel blesses our lives; I know this because I've seen the blessings of it in my own life. For every question or concern that we have in our life, whether it be "how do I develop a better relationship with my family?" to "what is my purpose here in this life?" or "how can I be happy not only now but every day?" The gospel and the Book of Mormon have answers of these questions and many more. By learning and applying what we learn from each through the influence of the Holy Ghost, we begin to feel the love that God has for every single one of us individually and we find our lives and our hearts full to the brim, even in the face of adversity or troubles.

How I live my faith

I am serving my God and my Redeemer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for two years without holidays or floating hours by inviting others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, the reception of the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. More than anything, I live according to how I believe. I believe that Jesus is the Christ, that through His Gospel we can achieve eternal life which is the greatest gift of all through living the principles and fulfilling the ordinances of the Gospel which includes the aforementioned parts of faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring or being faithful in keeping God's commandments for the rest of our lives. Because of these truths, I try to show this in everything I do. Though I'm not perfect, I know that I can be a part of the light of the truth of God, which Jesus Christ likened to the light of the city set on a hilltop which cannot (or could not) be hid.
