Hi I'm Michele
Plain and simple, I'm a wife and mom and I'm a Mormon.
I am a wife and mom of 4 kids. I’m at the stage of life where my oldest is entering the teen the years and my youngest is leaving the preschool stage. I love art & occasionally teach to anyone interested. I love being outside with my family, I like gardening and traveling. Pretty plain and simple, even ordinary, but simple things make me happy. A couple of days ago we had our family picture taken & the snowflakes were perfect! It made me happy even though we were outside in what I think I remember was 8 degree weather. Snowflakes can be thought of as plain and simple but when looked at close we find they are fascinating. I think I, and everyone really, are like snowflakes; on the surface maybe plain and simple, but once you look close you might be pleasantly surprised.
Why I am a Mormon
Simply put, I’m a Mormon because I believe the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are true! In the Book of Mormon there is a scripture (Moroni 10:3&4) that says, 3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. When I pray to God I have felt in my heart that these things are true, that this is a good thing. Throughout my life the teachings have guided me and inspired me according to my needs. Right now with a family of 6 life in general is busy and can be distracting, but the Bible, Book of Mormon, and the teachings of a modern day prophet and apostles help me remember “the big picture” and remind me our family’s main focus needs to be living a Christ like life & to keep things simple.
How I live my faith
I enjoy living my faith by simply being a friend. Of course some days I am better at that than other days. :) I also enjoy living my faith by teaching my children our faith (once again, some days I’m better at that than others); and watching them grow up into kind people who aren’t afraid of what they believe and aren’t afraid to stand up for others’ beliefs is very rewarding. I also find volunteering and serving to be a very enriching way to become closer Christ. I occasionally volunteer for things at my children’s schools and am currently serving as a Webelos den leader (10 year old Cub Scouts).
