Hi I'm Troy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the church and was baptized when I was almost 14 years old. i enjoy reading, doing stuff outside (granted that its not too cold) working construction with my dad, and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptist before I became a member of the church. though in the beginning I had some doubts about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, the feelings I had and the way I felt as I attended church and studied with the missionaries was something I had been lacking in my previous faith. growing up I was taught that if I only believed in Christ I was saved, even though I did I still didn't feel that I was. only when I started taking the missionary discussions and completing with the things they invited me to do did I then feel that I was, that I felt I was doing something right, that I was on the right path.

How I live my faith

I live my faith according to the example that Jesus Christ put for us. everything that He did, I strive to do as well. its not easy, nor was it meant to be. but because of the principles of repentance and forgiveness, I can start fresh every week, everyday, to try and become more like Christ. I strive to treat others well, and i'm always looking for ways to serve and help others.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Troy
That at baptism we make a covenant (or promise) with God that we will take upon ourselves the name Christ, always remember Him, and always keep His commandments. In return He promises to give us the Gift of the Holy Ghost and to always have it with us Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Troy
The Atonement Of Jesus Christ started in the garden of getsemani, and ended with His resurrection. in short, it was the great sacrifice He made in behalf of us. He payed for our sins, allowing us to, if we will follow Him and His commandments, return to Live with our Heavenly Father. On our own we could never return to live with Him, for it is impossible for us to live perfect lives. Only one was perfect, Jesus The Christ, and only through His blood and sacrifice, can we be cleansed of our sins and have our natures changed, becoming more like Him, and being able to return to live with God.
