Hi I'm Moana

I'm a College student. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to school right now, persuing a degree in International Buisness and a minor in Hospitality and Tours Management. I love to play sports and be outside. White Water rafting is one of my favorite things to do, but i will do anything outdoors. I am of Pacific Island descent and have danced professionally for a few years now.

Why I am a Mormon

This life that we live is not an easy one at all. We all have our difficult times in life, sometimes we really question things, but i have found great strength in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was raised in the church, but had to gain my own knowledge for myself about the church.

How I live my faith

One of the great blessings of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that we are one big family. Each woman in the church is part of the largest woman's organization in the world, or the Relief Society. We each have the responsibility to care for one another, and be a support in anyway that we can. As a visiting teacher, we share a message of Jesus Christ with our sisters and offer help, whenever possible. One of my responsibilities in my local congregation is to organize fun activities for the Young Single Adults in my area. We love to have fun and we also love to serve, and we can do both.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Moana
We are all children of God and Jesus Christ has said that the only way that we can return to our Father in Heaven is through the ordinance of baptism. By performing proxy baptism, all those who have died without the opportunity to be baptized are given the chance. We all have the ability to make the choice weather to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ or not, but without the baptism of immersion, we can not return home to the presence of Our Father. Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Moana
In Malachi we read about how the people had robbed God in their tithes and offerings. This is a commandment that has been around from the beginning. God has given us everything in this world. There is nothing that we have today, that has not come one way or another through God. The commandment today is 10 of our income. This offering goes to build up the church through buildings, printed church material, etc. Not one penny goes into someones pocket. We are completely volunteer or lay ministry. By donating this tithe, we are showing our faith and willingness to follow the commandments of God. Show more Show less
