Hi I'm Jason

My perfect day would include being with my family, alone, on a whitewater river in a wilderness area, eating great food.

About Me

I have a wonderful wife and three beautiful children. As a family we enjoy spending time together and being physically active. My wife and I are both avid runners and we thoroughly enjoy camping together as a family. We try and have one major camping trip every three months where we go to the beach or the mountains for a week and relax. We also enjoy fishing, backcountry skiing, mountaineering, and backpacking. I am a Ph.D. student and am looking forward to graduating in May of 2012....happy day, oh, happy day. After graduating I hope to secure a faculty position with a university in the western states, preferably closer to our extended family.

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised Mormon there came a time in my life when I needed to know for myself that the teachings of my parents about the gospel of Jesus Christ were true. I remember one day in my early teens that I knelt beside my bed and sincerely asked to my Father Heaven in prayer if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. Upon asking this sincere question I felt a warm feeling of peace and happiness come over me. From that point on I knew that the LDS church was God's true church upon the earth. Although I struggle with personal weaknesses and temptations, I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ died for my sins. As a result of this knowledge, I try and repent often and make improvements in my life that allow me to grow closer to God and those I love. Being Mormon helps me facilitate this process.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to live a wholesome life that includes an appropriate balance between church, work, school, and play.
