Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up on the California coast, but I've never surfed. I make video games for a living. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to draw. When I was young, I loved to draw on walls. Now, I avoid the walls and work on a laptop. I'm a video game concept artist by day and a freelance illustrator by night and I love it! I love to learn, play soccer, play the ukulele, build things, and eat. I am married to my best friend and have four beautiful kids. They are a fun and wild bunch and I love them dearly!

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many voices in the world, competing for my attention. Most of them fill me with frustration, confusion, or sadness. Without the counsel of a living prophet, my life would be directionless. When I hear the prophet speak, I gain comfort and strength. When I hear the prophet speak, I am reminded that the Lord's gospel is way bigger than me. I get to be a part of it. I know the prophet is God's representative on the earth. Why would I want to seek guidance elsewhere?

How I live my faith

I currently serve as one of the youth leaders in my congregation. This involves teaching classes, planning activities, and attending many meetings. But ultimately, my job is to help the young men grow spiritually. There are disappointments and triumphs along the way and it is emotionally draining when you invest so much in others. But I'm grateful that the Lord allows me the opportunity to be a part of his work.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Andrew
Absolutely! It is a record of God's dealings with His people. As we read the Bible, we learn from the experiences of ancient prophets and apostles. When we read the Bible, we are being taught eternal principles and doctrine. And, of course, the Bible is the only record we have of Christ's mortal ministry and sacrifice. The Bible is scripture and it is very important to Mormons. In fact, my wife and kids and I are in the middle of studying the New Testament as a family and read together from it every morning during breakfast. I love Bible! Show more Show less
