Hi I'm Kate

I am a twin. I love everything music. I'm a landscape designer. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a young single adult going to college, and life is just wonderful! I'm an environmental science major/horticulture and landscape design. I have a passion for music it's something that I will always love.  I love to be adventurous and try new things, and I'm always up for a good time with friends and family. I'm a person of many interests- I love to scuba dive with my dad, and sew with my mom. I love to be outside in the beautiful world that was created for us and enjoy the wonders of nature. I am waiting for a young man who has made me happier than I ever thought possible who is serving in Brazil. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? There are many reasons, but the main reason for myself is that I feel a fire burning inside of me, telling me that the teachings of this church are true. I was raised by Mormon parents who went to church every Sunday faithfully and taught me how to study my own scriptures and say my own prayers. I easily lived off of my parents' testimonies for several years growing up, until I took upon myself the challenge to find out for myself if the religion I was practicing was really true. With much fasting, praying, and studying, I came to know that this really is the gospel of Jesus Christ; it is real, it is true. The principles and teachings of this church are so logical and it all just fits together. But most importantly, I have come to know, through the power of the Holy Spirit by reading the Book of Mormon, that Jesus Christ did in fact atone for all my sicknesses, infirmities, and sins, making it possible for me to repent and be made clean. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, called of God, predestined to restore this gospel to the Earth. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God; it is simply just not possible for him to have written it on his own. The Book of Mormon is truly an inspired book, written by the prophets of God, that was restored to this Earth through His own power and will. And it is because of this book that I have come to know who I am and why I am here, what my specific purpose is on this Earth. I know that God the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ guide me through daily life, that they hear my prayers, and that they love me. I know that I am a child of a Heavenly Father who loves me and has created a way so that I may return to Him someday, no matter what. I eagerly await the day when I have the chance to see my Heavenly Father and my Brother Jesus Christ once again.

How I live my faith

In the LDS church, we are taught to "be an example of the believers" 1 Timothy 4:12, and I strive to live my faith by doing just that. I strive to be obedient and follow the counsels of the Prophet. I strive to pray and study the scriptures daily so that I may continue to learn the words of God and that I may have His Spirit with me to guide me and inspire to. Trying to find ways to serve others often is also something greatly emphasized in our church, as serving others can bring you and those you serve close to our Heavenly Father, for "when you are in the serve of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God" Mosiah 217. I also strive to fulfill and magnify the calling I'm given within the church, whatever it may be. I have had the opportunity to have a variety of callings, and by working hard to fulfill that calling the best I can, I have received so many blessings and have been able to strengthen my testimony and have a greater capacity to serve others and help them grow as well.
