Hi I'm Amber

I love the ocean. I'm a Navy wife, a mother, and sometimes a sailor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Navy wife with two sweet babies. Before my children I was a preschool teacher and director. I was also better at housekeeping and laundry. Now I prefer hugs and kisses and I probably spead myself too thin like most moms who want to please everyone. I love crafty things and sewing, but I also love the outdoors. I love sailing, especially with my dad. And I love planning parties, especially with my mom. Oh, and I love a good book!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I was raised to live the gospel. I have always loved the teachings of Jesus Christ and I try everyday to live the way he would want me to. After I moved away from home I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon and pray to see if it was true. At the time I had a close friend who had been challenged also. She prayed and had experienced a marvelous feeling. When she told her story it was thrilling and beautiful. I prayed for serveral weeks. I knew the Lord would give me an answer but I felt so silly kneeling down and asking a question I knew the answer to. How could I have a beautiful conversion to something I had no doubt in? Finally after considering the this lack of doubt I realized that I had my answer all along. I already knew the Book of Mormon to be a true book. I felt comforted that the Lord was happy with my acceptance of his gospel. For me there was no pillar of light or voice or pounding heart. It was a very sweet feeling of peace. That feeling has always stayed with me through every question and challenge. And it is renewed everytime I read the Book of Mormon or hear a prophets words. I am a Mormon because I know this Church is true.

How I live my faith

Every part of my life has the gospel in it. It is the glue that holds me together. As a wife I learn so much about myself by learning to work alongside another person. I truely love my husband and am so glad I have all of eternity to become a better companion. As a mom I feel closer to my Heavenly Father when I pour myself into raising precious souls. I am so thankful for my chidren and truely enjoy seeing them grow everyday. Professionally I am a teacher, and I find so much joy in seeing others gain knowledge and perfect skills. I am always reminded of the many things I need to learn and hope I can be a good student for the Lord. Currently I work with the teenage girls at church and have been surprized how rewarding it is to teach these mini adults. Helping them prepare for their future has helped me find focus in making my own better. Nothing makes you try harder to be good than being the example for others to look up to. I am not always a ray of sunshine for those around me. I have struggles and faults like most people. But I find that I am a lot happier when I keep the Lord in mind. Overall I try to find meaning in my everyday activities and try not to deny a chance to serve the Lord. This is how I live my faith.
