Hi I'm Clark

I love my family, and I want to do something with my life that will benefit others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music: listening, singing, playing. Among my favorite styles of music are jazz, a cappella, classic rock, choral music, and Haitian compa. I also like to play basketball. I'm heading back to college to study mathematics, although I'm not sure exactly where that will lead me. I'm the oldest in my family, so I try to set a good example for my brothers and sisters. Two of my brothers are taller than me now, but I can still hold my own on the basketball court! I love my family a lot, and I'll miss them while I'm away at college. I hope to keep busy, though, with classes, church activities, spending time with old friends, and work.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon all my life. My parents have influenced my outlook on life quite a bit. I've seen the way this church has given them the faith they need to raise a family, and I want to be like them. Besides my parents' example, another reason I continue to be Mormon is because I know from personal experience that the teachings of the church are true. And not only are they true, but they can help people. I've seen a change in my life and in the lives of others from doing things as simple as reading the Book of Mormon and praying every day. I know how to be truly happy, in a sense much deeper than finding pleasure or popularity, and the key lies in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday, where I try to participate in the lessons and the worship service. I feel refreshed and strengthened as I do so. During the week, I read from the scriptures: the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I try to remember God and include Him in my decision making. I pray for protection, even when I'm just driving somewhere around town. I love to talk to others and be a part of their lives. I've found that connecting with others makes my life richer and helps me come closer to God. I try to take advantage of service and teaching opportunities in the church. I'm far from perfect, and I take comfort in knowing I can repent. I try to repent and change things about me that aren't right. In doing so, I feel God's love and can experience His peace during crucial moments of my life.
