Hi I'm Brittnee

I am a mother of two, loving wife, and a helping friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 23, a mother of 2 beautiful girls, and wife to a wonderful husband. I am in the process of finishing my schooling so I can open my own floral shop. I love flowers, cooking/cake making, music, snowboarding, and movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member, but never really understood the meaning and how much it means to me until I was older. My belief in God is my rock. He is my strength. He is my hope. The last few years of my life have been trying for me and my family. Our first daughter died at 33 weeks gestation in December 2008. It has been so hard, but we have been so blessed. Our knowledge of eternal families has kept my hopes up and my heart alive knowing that we will be with our baby girl again. God does have a plan, he loves us too much to have us come here with no hope. Knowing that I will be able to see her again and raise her is my reason for living my life to the fullest. When I get down and hopeless I think of her and pick my feet back up. This trial has been more of a blessing as time goes on. I have had other friends lose a child, at any age. I have been able to be there for them, even when I am on the other side of the world. And though many are not members, they have been blessed by my comfort and knowledge of eternal families.

How I live my faith

I served in many youth leadership positions, been a teacher for several years. I attend church when my health permits, and when I am unable to be there I will watch church videos. I live my faith by being kind to everyone I meet. I try not to judge anyone. I help others when they are in need, even if they are not members as we are all God's children, everyone is given a chance.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

I also read another book, in addition to the King James version of the Bible, called The Book of Mormon. In this scripture it tells of how the people of Lehi, a prophet from Jerusalem in the year 600 B.C., came to the America’s after fleeing Jerusalem, and all that fell upon him and his people, the Nephites and Lamanites, until the Nephites destruction from wickedness 400 years after Christ’s death. This book is just like the Bible. It is full of hope and love and words from our Heavenly Father to further guide us on our life here on earth. It is also full of tragedy so that we may learn from their mistakes. I know this book is as true as the Bible, I know this from my own personal scripture study. I ask that you read and ponder The Book of Mormon so you can know for yourself the peace I feel when it comes to eternal families. There is a power in this book which will help strengthen your family relationships as well as others around you. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

God does have a plan. We have known it before the beginning of time on earth. The Plan of Salvation teaches us what that plan is and how we can follow and return to His loving arms when our life on earth ends. He would never have sent us to earth without a way to get back to Him. Through Jesus Christ’s atonement He has provided a way that we may overcome physical death. We have the opportunity to be resurrected at the time of the Second Coming. We will live again when our spirits and our bodies have reunited. The Plan of Salvation is there to bring us joy and stability in our lives so we know all is well with our loved ones who have passed on before us. We will see them again. Another part of God’s Eternal Plan is that families can and will be together forever. I never knew how much this meant to me until we lost our daughter. Because of the promises I have made with Heavenly Father, I will be with her again, I will be able to raise her in a perfect world, and she will forever be a part of our family, as long as I strive to keep all His commandments and live my life according to His word. If I do not live my life according to the gospel of Jesus Christ I cannot raise my perfect child. However, I am human and will make mistakes, but God has prepared a way even with all our faults and imperfections. He has provided repentance of our sins, both great and small, if we come unto Him and repent, we will be forgiven and “though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18) Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

I have Crohn's disease. It makes life challenging, but I have been able to understand that the Word of Wisdom doesn't mean just refraining from things that will harm our bodies like: drugs, alcohol, caffeine. It also helps us keep our bodies healthy by setting good principles. Everything in moderation. I have learned a lot about keeping my body healthy just from these Words of Wisdom. Show more Show less
