Hi I'm Andrew

I ran Track in college, I love University of Utah Football, I served as a missionary in St. Louis and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I served a mission in St. Louis Missouri. Before my mission I enjoyed running, college football, movies and sometimes video games. I ran the 400m dash in High School and College. Since my mission I have picked school back up and gotten married. I am majoring in accounting. I love the University of Utah Utes football team, I had season tickets. My favorite movie is Better off Dead. And my favorite video game series is Final Fantasy.

Why I am a Mormon

There are two reasons: The first is becasue I was born into a "Mormon" family. The second is the more important reason, and that is becasue I know that this is Christ's Church. There came a time when I wondered why I was doing the things I was doing and decided to find out if I was doing the right thing. Through study of the book of mormon, the bible and praying I knew that this is Christ's church restored on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I follow the council of the Prophet and his apostles. The advice they give to the world is the advice our loving heavenly father wants us to know. I am currently trying to spread the words of our modern day living prophets.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. Joseph was the first of many modern day prophets. Jesus Christ retored his church through Joseph. Joseph is seen as a great prophet but he is not the focus of our worshop. We worshop the all mighty god and his son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The first step is to remove the word "Morminism" and Replace it with the phrase "Church of Jesus Christ" , then ask God in prayer if the Book of Mormon is his word. If it is his word then that means Joseph Smith was a prophet and that means that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's original church restored to the earth. Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We don't because God commands it. Just as God tells us not to steal or kill he also tells us what we shouldn't consume. There was a health code in the law of moses so why not now? This is called the Word of Wisdom. The Word of Wisdom also tells us we should have a balanced diet and treat our bodies with respect. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the 1st of the modern-day prophets of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 1820 at the age of 14 he lived in Palmyra New York. There was a large religeous excitement in Palmyra at that time. There were many churches that had conflicting doctrines. Joseph was confused and wanted to know which church to join. He studied the bible searching for an answer, one day he came to James Chapter 1 verse 5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men leberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given him." So on a spring day he went to a grove of trees near his home to pray to ask God which church he should join. He knelt down to pray and something amazing happened! In his own words he said "I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which desended gradually until it fell upon me. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other-This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" Joseph saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. Jesus told Joseph not to join any of the Churches becasue none of them had the fullness of his gospel. He was told to go and prepair for a time when he would restore Christ's true church to the earth. In the coming years Joseph was prepaired and shown the way. Jesus restored his church through the prophet Joseph Smith. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

We pay for it ourselves. It costs about $10,000 to come on a 2 year mission. We save up before our mission and sometimes our parents help. We pay the money to the church, they make sure we have a home, a car sometimes and a little money back to buy food and supplies. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

If you have the missionaries over you can expect a few things. Usually on the first visit they will talk with you, get to know you and your family. Then there is usually some sort of lesson 30-45 min. The first lesson is either on The Book of Mormon or they will go over the Restoration of Christ's gospel, but can be on anything the missionaries feel would apply best to your situation. And then at the end of the lesson they will leave some sort of commitment, such as "Will you read and pray about the Book of Mormon?" or "Will you come to church on Sunday?". Show more Show less
