Hi I'm Liz

I strongly believe in family. I am the busy mother of eight. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a degree in Elementary Education but am currently focusing on raising my eight children. I am passionate about making a difference in the world by teaching my children strong moral values. I want them to have the courage to stand up for what they believe in. I believe that family is everything and that we each can make the world a better place!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because within the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have found peace and direction in a changing and difficult world. The beliefs that I hold give me daily hope and truly are an anchor to my soul. I have also found tremendous help through those same teachings in raising my children to be moral, honest and productive people.

How I live my faith

Our faith is a huge part of our daily lives. We get up each morning and spend a few minutes reading and discussing the scriptures as a family. We have been able to discuss many pertinent lessons each day as we study together. We have prayer as a family after reading and also before each meal to give thanks for all the blessings we have been given and to ask for specific help and guidance for our family and others. We reserve Monday nights for Family Time. We spend this time building our relationships with each other by singing, playing games, teaching, sharing talents, and just having fun together. We look for opportunities to help other people in our community because we feel that is what Jesus Christ did while He was on the Earth. We attend Church weekly as a family. My husband and I are currently teaching a class of 10-12 year olds. We enjoy their energy and knowledge. Because of my faith, I am better able to prioritize the demands on my time. My faith keeps me focused on the things that matter most which is my family!

What is the First Vision?

The First Vision occured as a result of Joseph Smith's sincere prayer in a grove of trees. Heavenly Father and Jesus appeared on this earth in their physical bodies to teach Joseph Smith who was questioning which religion he should join. Jospeh learned from them that he should not join any of the existing churches but that the true gospel of Jesus Christ which Jesus organized when He was living on the Earth would soon be restored. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is most often a feeling or witness that comes as a result of learning a truth and then trying your best to implement that truth in your own life. A testimony comes from learning and doing. Most often for me, the feelings that come as a result of doing this are feelings of peace and assurance within my heart that what I have done or experimented on really matters to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Those feelings can be very powerful and compel me to want to continue living that truth. Show more Show less
