Hi I'm Konae

Being a Mormon is one of the best things about me.

About Me

I am a 23 year old single mother to an amazing 1 year old son. I am Samoan, Chinese, Japanese, Irish, German. I am one semester away from graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I love playing volleyball and have had the opportunity to travel to most of the states because of it. So far there hasn't been a place I didn't love...or at least was grateful for. I also enjoy dancing and singing, but only in the privacy of my own home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and I have received confirmation of this time and time again in my life. I know that there is light and joy within the gospel that cannot be found anywhere else because I have looked. There was a time in my life where I tried to find happiness in all the wrong places and not only did I not find what I was looking for, but I also became racked with guilt and sorrow. It was only through the tender mercy of my Heavenly Father that I was able to find my way back to the peace of the gospel. I know from personal experience that there is safety in living the principles of this gospel; safety from pain both physically and spiritually. The church is so sacred to me because it is where I feel closest to my Father in Heaven. With the truths of the gospel, I feel as if I am able to endure anything this life has to offer and it just makes so much sense to me. I know we have a Heavenly Father because it is evident in everything around me and it makes sense to me that we are His children and that this life is meant to be a time of learning for us to prepare us for the life to come. I could probably go on for a lot longer so I'll just leave it at this; I am a Mormon because I am happy and love being a Mormon .

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday of my life because it applies to my everyday life. Everything I touch, see, taste, smell, or hear tells me that there is a higher power, or my Heavenly Father that makes all this possible. In every situation of my llife, no matter how seemingly small, I know that a principle I have learned in the gospel can help me overcome.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Baptism is done by immersion which means complete submission under the water and is performed when a child is at the age of accountability, which is 8 years old. Before a child is 8 years old, the adversary, or Satan, has no power to tempt that child so by age of accountability, it is meant that a child is able to discern right from wrong and is then held responsible for the choices he or she makes.
