Hi I'm Evan

I was born in Utah but have spent most of my life in California. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 68 years old and have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life. I am the father of four children, three boys and one girl. I am also the grandfather to 11 grandchildren (ten grandsons and one granddaughter). I have served in various positions in the church (including missionary) since I was a boy, and though there were times the responsibilities of that service were pretty intense, and even tiring, I served out of love for my Savior and fellow men and women; I served because I consecrated my time to the Lord. I didn't serve perfectly, but I served willingly. I am not yet retired; I like my job. I enjoy being with my family, reading, art and music, some of which has been produced by my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I look forward to my being part of an eternal family. I have a testimony that the authority to bring families together in an eternal bond lies in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am privileged to have received benefit of that authority.

How I live my faith

I confess: I live my faith imperfectly. But as I strive to overcome myself and the world, I know I can look to the Savior for support in my efforts. He knows me; He knows the trials and temptations that so often beset me, and he knows how to help me overcome. As I strive to do better, I am trying to school myself to precede my thoughts, words, and behavior with the question "why," and if the answer somehow does not lead to the Plan of Salvation, I know it's time to make a change. I strive to live my faith by personal revelation, a love of God, and a repentant heart.
