Hi I'm Ashley

I grew up in California. I'm a mother of three boys, married to my college sweetheart for six years and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After growing up in sunny California I moved to Provo, UT for college. I there met my husband and we were married a year after we met. We went into married life happy as can be, never knowing the trials that lay before us. We had our first son a couple years later and life was perfect. We loved being parents. When we were pregnant with our second, another boy, everything changed. We had complications during the pregnancy, and our second boy was born two months early with Trisomy 18. He lived four days, weighing only two pounds. His passing turned our lives upside down and inside out. We never thought, as a young married couple we would have to face something so heartbreaking. It has been two years since we lost our son and we have been very blessed since then, with another boy, our third, who is a happy and healthy 11 month old. We have gone through the grief of losing a child hand in hand as a couple. As a person, woman, daughter, sister, wife and mother, I am defined by the things I love. I love my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, I love my husband and I love being a mother to my three boys. My ultimate goal in life is to provide a happy, fun and peaceful home for my family. To raise my children to be future leaders, to change the world for the better is my daily task. I love being a stay at home mom, there is so much love and laughter there. In the home is where the greatest (and hardest) work is performed. I love to cook with my children, play with them, read inspiring books, write, the ocean, chocolate, girls nights and date nights with my husband. As a family we honor our son every year by donating preemie outfits to the local NICU and abroad in Uganda, Africa to the NICU there. We are blessed to have an angel looking over us. See yourself as God sees you.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is the true reason for my happiness and my joy. This church gives me hope, feeds my soul, comforts my broken heart and rejuvenates my spirit. The Savior Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of this church, He is the foundation, the rock, the way home to our Father in Heaven. Through the temples, husbands and wives can be sealed for time and all eternity and for that I am forever grateful, to know that I will be with my husband for time and eternity. Families are forever families because of the temple and this fills me with more joy, more comfort, that I want to shout it from the roof tops, knowing I will see my son again someday. I know I am a daughter of God and that He loves me, knows the trials I face and He has given me the keys to return to Him through this church.

How I live my faith

Growing up in California I have stood out amongst the crowd. I was the girl who did not drink, smoke, swear, or dress immodestly. I didn't go on my first date until I was 16. I did all of those things because I believed those were the things my Father in Heaven wanted me to do and that living my faith would bring me ultimate joy, happiness and safety. It truly did. I never had to worry, I knew who I was, the values I stood for and would never settle for less. Now, as a married mother of three, I still stand out amongst the crowd as I continue to stand up for my values. As a family every Monday night we teach our children important lessons from the scriptures, have fun activities and yummy desserts to the end the night. On Sunday we go to church as a family, there I teach Sunday school to a class of ten year old's and I love it. My husband is a Seminary teacher for the church, meaning he gets up at 5 am five days a week, drives to the church building, teaches a group of high school Sophomores lessons from the scriptures before school, and he loves it! We teach our children principles our family stands for, we teach them about the Savior Jesus Christ and they love Him too even though they are in the very beginning stages of learning all He has done for us.

Who are the Mormons?

We are people who believe in the Savior Jesus Christ. We know He lives and loves us. We know he wants us to be happy and return to live again with Him someday with our families and our Heavenly Father and so he provided a way for us to return back. We have a prophet on the earth today who leads and guides us. We know he is the mouthpiece of the Lord, directing us, just as in times of old. The Book of Mormon is the foundation of our church. Therein lies the key to happiness, the Plan of Salvation, the answers to questions like where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going after this life. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. We learn of Him and His teachings in it. The whole reason, the bottom line, the center of our church is the knowledge that families can be together forever, through Heavenly Father's Plan. Without this knowledge, I don't know who I'd be and where I'd be. We are so blessed to have our families, beyond the grave, to see our loved ones who have passed on before us again!
