Hi I'm Ryan

I am a the second of eight kids. I love college sports and being outdoors, and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I do logistics for a heating & air conditioning company. I love sports - especially basketball, volleyball, and football. I am passionate about teaching and would would love to eventually become a high school teacher. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology and I am preparing right now to go back to school for an MBA.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but I have had to gain my own testimony or knowledge that the church is true. When I was in high school I spent a lot of time reading and praying about the Book of Mormon and that is when I really felt for myself that the church was true. I love knowing that God still reveals truths to prophets today and that Jesus Christ's church is again on the earth.

How I live my faith

I find that I can best live my faith by helping others. I volunteer for church activities and service, and I also stay involved in community service. To draw closer to God and Jesus Christ, I try to study the scriptures and pray daily.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Paul taught that "for it is by grace you have been saved - through faith" (Ephesians 2:8). Jesus Christ is our Savior, and it is only through power of his atonement that we can be saved; not through any merit of our own. To receive Christ's grace in our lives, we need to demonstrate faith in Him. This is done by obeying the commandments that he has given us. When we rely on Jesus Christ, we are happier and can be confident that we will eventually return to live with God. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

The Bible is the word of God and contains most of the things we need to know. When Christ was on the earth, he established a church with prophets and apostles who had his authority not only to write his word but also to teach and to baptize. After Christ's death, his apostles were also killed, and Christ's authority was lost from the earth. God has again called a prophet and apostles today who have authority to lead his Church.
