Hi I'm David

I love learning, I'm a Software Engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was a little boy, I told my Mom "I want to be an airplane when I grow up." She said, "You mean you want to be a pilot?" I said "No, I want to be an airplane." While, I didn't get to be an airplane, I spent the last year flying across the country every week! My wife and three children handled this work assignment like champs. Skype really helped us stay connected, by having regular family scripture study. I am passionate about business, technology, learning and religion. My new in town work assignment lets me work with amazing people and cutting edge technology that will help school kids learn. I love to read good books, and watch movies that fuel my imagination.

Why I am a Mormon

I am very thankful for parents who raised me in the church. I remember attending a church youth activity when I was about 14. As is typical of such events, it concluded with time for those who felt prompted to share their feelings about the gospel. As each youth stood up and shared how they new the truth of the gospel, I felt something. I realized that I could not say that I knew like they did. I also felt a great desire to know. This desire moved me to sincerely study the Book of Mormon for the first time. I remember finishing the book and applying the promise. I asked God if the things I had read were true. I felt a peaceful feeling that it was true. When I recognized this feeling, I felt very excited! I had received personal communication from the Lord!

How I live my faith

I love Home Teaching. What started out as sharing monthly gospel messages in the homes of my assigned families has grown into a feeling of true compassion for them. This past year has been very difficult for some of them as they have suffered family tragedy. There have been awkward moments when I didn't know what to do, or what to say to offer comfort. In those moments I have felt guidance from God. These moments have truly challenged and strengthened my faith.
