Hi I'm Matt.

I'm a husband, a father, and a grandfather. By profession I am a lawyer. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy reading, movies, water sports, snow skiing, and travel. Charles Dickens is my favorite author and Abraham Lincoln was my favorite U.S. President. My favorite book is A Christmas Carol, and I have too many favorite movies to name just one.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and raised in the faith. Like everyone, however, I had to make the decision for myself. The answer came for me quietly and gradually during my youth and young adult years, through prayer, study, and striving to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. And it has been confirmed to me over and over during the many years since then by the still small voice, as I have tried to live the gospel and serve where I am called. Now the teachings of Jesus Christ have become so much a part of my life that I cannot imagine living without them.

How I live my faith

My current service in the LDS church involves teaching and leading the activities and service of others who live near me. I spend several hours each week in church service, along with many others who do the same. It is very rewarding to see so many who give of themselves willingly and whose only desire is to bring joy to other people.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit. Along with God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead. To me his most important roles are as the Comforter, which the Savior spoke about in the New Testament, and as the Spirit of Truth who reveals knowledge from heaven. The gift of the Holy Ghost is a miraculous blessing in my life. Show more Show less
