Hi I'm Erica

I grew up in Georgia. I am a foster mom. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have 5 kids, some adopted. I am a foster mother and I love it. It is really hard sometimes, but with God and a loving husband at my side, I can do anything. I am going to college... again. I was raised in Georgia and even though I have lived in other states, I always come back. I like to do anything outdoors from hiking to camping to sketching. Although I can't draw worth a flip, my stick figures always look enough like the real thing. I love to talk to people and I haven't met a stranger yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I was always looking for the truth. No one could answer my questions about life after death or why I felt there was always something missing. I finally found the gospel that answered all my questions. I am a Mormon because after learning the truth, I knew there was no turning back.

How I live my faith

I have to take things day by day. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and tired, especially with no sleep. With school and 5 kids, it can be rough. But knowing that God has my back keeps me going. I know he would never give me anything I couldn't handle. I am in our church's woman's organization called the Relief Society and I help plan large functions for it. I deal with parties of 50+ women, and I love it. On those days that I have the events coming up the only thing keeping me going is faith that I am doing what the Lord wants me to do and lots of chocolate. Afterward, I am so filled with the joy of service that nothing can keep me on the ground. I love our gospel and from the feelings I get and the knowledge I receive from heaven when I read the scriptures they tell me the gospel is true.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Erica
Jesus Christ lived a long time ago. He sacrificed his life so we all could return to Heavenly Father. After he was killed, he was resurrected three days later. As a resurrected being, he visited his apostles. He also visited the people in the Americas and the people in the Isles of the sea. The poeple in America wrote down all the things Jesus taught and all the sacred things and revelations they had throughout their life. After the people in America were all but gone, one of them hid the records in a hill to be opened later by God's command through a man named Joseph smith. Heavenly Father and Jesus restored their gospel through the translation of the records found in the hill. Therefore, Jesus Christ is the founder of the Mormon church. Show more Show less
