Hi I'm Seth

I'm from Illionis. I'm a math and physics major. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm grew up in centeral IL. I love to play soccer. I play the piano and the trombone. I'm currently a math and physics student in college.

Why I am a Mormon

The simple answer might be because this is God's church and because this is where my Heavenly Father wants me to be. It's much much more than that though. Unfortantly I'm horrible with words and writing, hence why I'm studying math and physics and not english. Consequently I doubt I'll be able to adequately express my feelings toward my Savior Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. I'm not sure if anyone will ever read this, but if you do, I want to share with you want I have come to know. I know Jesus is the Christ. That salvation is only through Him. I know this is His organization. He stands at the head of it. It is that same oganization once again established again on the earth. Thomas S. Monson is His personal representative on the earth today. I know both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and tangible evidences of this great work. I gained my testimony through reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. I also know anyone else can do the same. Even though I had gain a testimony early on in my life, I wasn't always converted to it. It wasn't until I started living what was taught that I started to change and become converted. I have a long way to go, but at least I know where I'm headed.

How I live my faith

I just got back from serving a 2 year mission in North Carolina. It was the BEST 2 years in my life, up to this point. I hope that as continue to use the things I learned as a missionary (hard work, patience with others and myself, love for others, study habbits, obedience, repentance, and much much more), that the next several years will only get that much better. I'm looking forward to being able to live my faith to the very end. This, I know, will bring true happiness. This gospel has changed me. I'm looking forward to being a better son, a better brother, a better student, a better listener, and a better follower of my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Seth
As a missionary on one of North Carolina's biggest campus's (NC State) we had the privilege of talking to many students on campus. While talking to these students it was easy to tell that many of them knew little to none about the Mormon Church or there knowledge came solely from TV shows or other media that gave false information. What was surprising was what some of the History textbooks in schools say about the church and it's creation. Even though some of it was accurate, much of it put a bad light on the mormons and made us look like some crazy cult. It isn't hard to tell why others see us as a cult. Larglely due to the fact that the only things they had learned were misinformed sources. Almost all of the students who knew members of the Mormon Church knew better than to think of us as a cult. If one really wants to find out they can come to church with us and read the Book of Mormon for them selves. Show more Show less
