Hi I'm Paul

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Occupation: crop genetics and research. Hobbies: gardening, small engine repair/restoration, exercise, aerial kite photography (dabble), and other small projects around the house. Fun fact: I experienced (and survived) the 2010 Chile Earthquake! I was in Rancagua where it registered an 8.4. Favorite movie quote: "You ain't no kind of man if you ain't got land" - Delmar in O Brother Where Art Thou. I have a beautiful family - lovely wife and three energetic little boys (ages 5, 3, and 1 month).

Why I am a Mormon

The ordinances of salvation (the path by which we return to live, as a family, with our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ) are taught clearly and made available to me and my family through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything that we do within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS or Mormon Church) directs us to this end - to have joy in this life and to return to live with God as a family after this life.

How I live my faith

It starts in the home. We teach our children from the scriptures and by example - how to use their God-given agency to make correct choices. We have family prayer and family scripture study on a daily basis. We have family-night once a week where we sing songs and teach lessons to the children. My wife and I pray together and reach scripture together. We attend our Sunday worship services, without exception. We serve in the church - my wife is in the children's sunday-school presidency (primary) and I serve as the Elders Quorum (men's group) president - through these responsibilities we have the opportunity to teach and serve others.
