Hi I'm Greg

I grew up in Nevada. I was a Catholic in my early childhood, but now I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the lucky husband of my Eternal Companion of over 20 years, the blessed father of 4 beautiful children. Both my bride and I have a college education and our oldest daughter is attending college. Our son is serving a mission and we still have two more in Primary.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ because I have a testimony that this is the true and living church established by the Savior Himself during his ministry and restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith in the early 1800s. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and each time I read it I learn something new and I receive further witness from the Holy Ghost of its truthfulness. There is a passage of scripture near the end of the Book of Mormon that is often referred to as Moroni's Challenge and it reads, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would aask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may aknow the truth of all things." I have accepted this challenge and I have studied, pondered and prayed about the Book of Mormon and the doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I have received a confirming witness from the Holy Ghost that these things are true; that Jesus is the Christ; that Joseph Smith was a Prophet; that Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet today; and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I now extend this same challenge to you with my personal promise that if you do as Moroni suggests, you too can receive a witness of the truthfulness of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have had ample oppotunities to serve within the Church such as: missionary work, leading and teaching the youth, leading and teaching the men within the Priesthood Organization, teaching adults and youth in Sunday School, and serving as an Executive Secretary to the Bishopric. We also have opportunities to serve one another individually through service projects, home visits, and simply fellowshipping with one another. Serving within the community has also been a passion of mine with opportunities such as: serving within the local and regional educational institutions through the Tech Prep and School-to-Work initiatives; serving in welfare-to-work intitiatives; applying my knowledge as a Human Resources Professional to assist the unemployed with the development and/or review of resumes, coaching and counseling regarding employability skills, conducting mock audits and teaching other career counselors about these concepts. With all of the opportunities to serve outside the home, the greatest opportunity to serve the Lord exists within the walls of my own home. As I work collaboratively with my sweet Bride to establish a house of faith, obedience, love, and joy I can do more to advance the Kingdom of God than in any other instrumentality by preparing my children to be righteous disciples of Christ and positive contributors to society.
