Kay: Mormon.

Hi I'm Kay

About Me

I am a 40 something woman who is happily married. I love to read, craft and cook!! I am a proud aunt to 29 neices and nephews. I served as a missionary in the Christchurch New Zealand mission, under President Baxter and President Tagg. I have been married for 11 years and I currently have callings in the church teaching the 8 to 10 yr olds in primary and I also served as stake assitant Y W Camp director this past summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the mormon church, but I choose to continue to live the teachings of the Mormon church. Through out my life I have had the chance to study, pray and seek a testimony of my own. Every time I have questions or concerns, the Holy Ghost whispers the truth to me. I know that we follow a living prophet and through my faith and my Honest endeavors I can be with those I love forever and return to be with my Father in Heaven after my death. I have lost many loved ones in my life and it comforts me to know that I can be with them some day for all of Eternity. I love the Scriptures!! I love to read of Christ and his life, both in the bible and the times he spent in america in the book of Mormon. I have a testimony of Joseph Smith and his sacred visoin of our Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. Being and Living as a Mormon woman is what brings me great happiness!!

Personal Stories

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

My husband and I have been married for almost 13 years. The greatest desires of our hearts have been to have a child. We have not been able to get pregnant and that has caused a great deal of heart break. We have prayed about this and feel led to adopt a baby. We recently qualified through our agency. We have been through two experiences with birth mom's and although they didn't work out we felt the loving guidance of our Heavenly father. We also didn't know how we would pay the fee's for a adoption and to our surprise after many prayers we qualified for a loan. We feel ready for this next big adventure and know that the Lord will answer our prayers and help us find our child. We also pray for the family of our future child. That its parents will be blessed with a peace of mind and the loving comfort of our Heavenly Father. This must be such a hard decision for them to make. We know that the Lord helps us through prayer in all the aspects of our life. The prayers my husband and I share together bring us closer as a couple and also help our married life.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I have read the Bible and the Book of Mormon over and over again. It seems like every time I am going through a difficult time in my life I read something in his Holy words and find the answers. It means so much to me that he wants to guide his children and one of the ways he does that is through his holy written words. I feel His loving arms around me, and the answers to lifes questions in the words of the Book of Mormon and the Bible.

How I live my faith

I try every day to live my faith. Some times it is not easy. My husband and I pray together daily, and I pray by myself often through out the day. I love teaching the 8 to 10 year old children in my ward. They teach me so much, they are great examples of what we should all be. I enjoyed serving as a assistant canp director for the young women of our stake this past summer. Although I am not a seasoned camper, i gained a testimony of the Power of god in all things!! You certainly feel closer to him and all his creations when you find yourself stripped of the unimportant things, while spending time, sleeping in a tent, cooking over a camp fire and hearing the testimonies of the Young women of our church!! Some of my most spiritual moments have been when I am serving, whether it be as a missionary, a teacher, a camp director or just serving my neighbor.
