Hi I'm Joe

I can't wait to have a family, I DO believe in Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an aspiring Design/Architecture professional, scraping my way through college as an Computer Information Technology major. I get to learn all about how the Internet, WiFi, Bluetooth, websites and apps all work, plus a lot more. Honestly, I am still unsure about where all this will lead me, but wherever I end up, I want to be a pro! I love tough things! I also love trying new things. I love ultimate frisbee, running, longboarding, movies, and old TV shows like Looney Tunes, Johnny Quest, and Gilligan's Island. I love all types of music as long as it isn't bad. I'm a huge fan of The Killers! I love experiencing the outdoors, friendly competition, and good, clean, classy entertainment. More than anything I look forward to having my own family. I can't wait to share a loving relationship with my future wife and children. I always wonder how my parents made our family what it is and I am so grateful for the good decisions my siblings have made about who they married and how they raise their children. I love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was a missionary and now, people have asked me many times if I believe in Jesus Christ. Some have even insisted on telling me that I don't believe in Him. I have been a Latter-day Saint my whole life and I stay that way because I believe in the Lord's promises and continue to see them fulfilled. My conversion has not come all at once. I was only 8 years old when I was baptized so I don't remember it very well. To stay strong I have relied on many conversion moments over years of experience and growth. So when someone tries to challenge my faith by telling me that I don't believe in Christ... I don't question my faith, because it has grown day by day, the same way an acorn grows into an oak.

How I live my faith

For two years I was a full time missionary. I lived my faith by walking out the door every morning to preach the gospel. It was a great privilege to represent the Lord. Before I was a missionary, I got to teach the 15 year old youth about the Old Testament! And before that I was a Family Home Evening group leader at my college. I would organize activities each week for a group of other students and just make sure they were okay. Now, I am a secretary to our Bishop, so I help him with the paperwork and that sort of thing so that he can focus on helping the students in our congregation spiritually. I love to attend church and be with so many loving people. I sit quietly during the meetings to listen to other people's experiences and testimonies. If I am really paying close attention though, the Holy Ghost will teach me new things and show me answers to my prayers.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

It starts with those around us. We don't like to admit it sometimes, but we are most influenced by those we are with everyday. The majority of the world believes pornography is wrong, so we need to support each other in that belief. We can't let the squeaky wheels get their oil this time. When it comes to law we need to understand that good laws are based upon a higher authority than ourselves. God's laws ought to be the foundation for our laws, rather than just the whim of the majority. Majority rule will not ultimately bring peace, justice, or prosperity to the nations of the world. The solution is to boldly share the truth about pornography with those in our reach. Show more Show less
