Hi I'm B.J.

I grew up in the mountain valleys of Utah. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am the third oldest child in a brady bunch family of 8 children. I love my family, they are my best friends. I like learning new things. I have a broad variety of interests, I especially appreciate anything artistic. I love viewing the great outdoors, and using my imagination. I've spent the past couple years in missionary service. I'm excited to pursue my education and to serve others. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised by parents who love the Lord, parents who understand and love me. They live their faith and have always been good examples to me. I can trust them. In our home we had the gospel of Jesus Christ. This has been such a great blessing to our family. We are able to resolve our problems with the love and strength that comes from living the gospel. I love my family. In some of the earliest prayers I remember saying included "Please bless us that our family will be together forever in heaven." I started saying that on my own, no one told me to say that. My parents had taught me that God is our loving Heavenly Father, and about our Father's marvelous Plan of Salvation. That through the atoning sacrifice of his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, our elder brother, this plan would be possible. We would be able to return to our Heavenly Father successfully. We could be with our family together forever in heaven, part of our Eternal Family. The more I experience in the world, the more I find that the only things that bring me lasting happiness are the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and my family. And the two are meant for eachother, they are part of the same thing. I know this is true. This said, I am a "mormon" because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

One way I've been living my faith is in the missionary service I've been giving the last couple years amongst the people in the state of Georgia. I wanted to share with other people the things that have made me happy. Namely, a restored knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Living the principles and ordinances of His gospel is what brings continual happiness and blessings to our life. I served a full time mission to share this. That means I paid my own way to go my assigned mission to be a proselyting minister 24/7 for 2 years. And I love it. It was certainly not easy, but my joys in this service have greatly outweighed the challenges. Seeing the light and love of God shine in the eyes of the people I've taught. More importantly, living my faith, I consider to be in the way I live my life and treat others. Praying often, studying (not just reading) the holy scriptures, going to church meetings, and always remembering the Savior, these things help me to follow His example and live according to my faith in Him.
