Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a wife and a mom. I am a massage therapist and a baker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man who works as an engineer. I'm the mother 2 beautiful boys who me very busy and very happy. As a family we love to travel, play games and just be together. I enjoy reading and attempting crafts.i also love to bake. I find baking cakes a breads very relaxing and rewarding. I also enjoy doing family history and learning more about my heritage. I went to school to be a massage therapist and I enjoy practicing massage on my family and friends. Because I grew up in a military family I've lived all over the world. With moving around so much and having both of my parents have multiple marriages and divorces, I've had a lot of change in my life. But I've always tried to adapt and make the best out of every situation. I got used to late night study sessions while my husband was in college, so once I finally became a mom I was already accustomed to staying up all night. Those nights are exhausting, but I am very grateful for all of them. My life is pretty typical and not all that exciting, but I really do love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. My family brought me up in the Church and even though my dad later left the Church, my mom has always stayed strong and has always helped me to stay strong. I have always known that this is THE true church. I have no doubt whatsoever. I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be and what He wants me to be doing. I have a very strong knowledge of the Gospel and Heavenly Father's plan for me. Because I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I never wonder why I'm alive or what my purpose is. I know that as long as I follow the Lord and His commandments and teachings, I will return to live with Him and my entire family forever. I get to be with my husband and sons whom I love so dearly, for all eternity, not just till we die. I know that my Heavenly Father is pleased with my choices to continue living His gospel. My life has definitely had its rough times, but the Lord always pulls me through and I know that with Him I cannot fail. This Church is true and good. I have such faith and believe in this Church that I will always stay by it. I also have so much joy and peace in my life because of my understanding of the big picture of life.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday with my family. But my faith is not just for Sundays. I believe that religion is not a Sunday thing. If your religion is not your entire life, you cannot reasonably call it your religion. Then it is just church. I try very hard to keep my standards every day and try to be a good example of my beliefs to everyone that I come in contact with. I am in no way perfect, but I try to be good and choice the right. Despite some of my family members leaving the Church, I have always stayed because I am so sure that it is the true Gospel and that I can be happier here than anywhere else. I have been asked by some people why I may do some things which may seem peculiar to the world like not swearing or working on Sundays. Generally the answer has to do with my beliefs and my church. I have such a strong faith in Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ and I wish others to have the same joy that I have.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that the family is ordained of the Lord. He instituted families so that we would have people on Earth to help us and support us in our growth. Families are meant to be together forever, not just until we die. In the temple families are sealed together for all eternity because that is how the Lord planned it to be. Families should work together and build each other up and support each other. Show more Show less
