Hi I'm Heidi

I love shopping, eating, and traveling. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in northern California, where I grew up in a house full of brothers and a wonderful mother and father. I received my bachelors degree in psychology, with a minor in marriage and family studies. I love to travel and learn about people and cultures... especially their food.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be a Mormon. I was raised in the Church, and my family has always been active in the Church. However, there came a time when I needed to know for myself it is true. I prayed to my Heavenly Father, and I asked Him to give me the confirmation this is His true and only Church on the earth. He answered my prayer immediately with a deep feeling of peace and joy, and I have pressed forward in the Church since that day. My testimony has continued to grow as I learn more and act upon my faith. I know I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father, and I know He loves me, as He does every single one of His children. He sent us to this earth to learn and progress so we can become like Him. His only desire is for us to return to live with Him again. This is possible through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is my Savior and friend. He set the example for us in all things, and, through His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, He knows exactly what it is like to be us- our pains, our sicknesses, our temptations, our hurt - everything. His life ended as a sacrifice for all mankind, but He lives today to help us on our journey in this mortal life. This means everything to me. My knowledge of my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, is the foundation of my life. I can make it through anything because I know who I am, why I am here, and where I am going. He is present in my life every day, and I feel my Savior's love every day of my life.. even on days I don't deserve it. I have hope in this crazy life because I know I have a purpose on this earth, and my only goal is to live up to the potential Heavenly Father sees in me so I can return to live with Him someday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving every day to become more like Jesus Christ. I read the Book of Mormon daily to strengthen my faith in Him and learn more about the plan Heavenly Father has created for each of us. I pray to my Heavenly Father continually for the strength, comfort, knowledge, and love I need. I know He cares about me, and He is ready and willing to help me the second I turn to Him. He has given me the gift of the Holy Ghost which testifies to me of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, comforts me when I need comfort, and gives me the strength to be the best I can be.

Are Mormons Christians?

Heidi
Absolutely. First and foremost, we are Christians. We believe Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He lived the perfect life, and He sacrificed His perfect life to redeem us so we can live with our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Heidi
Yes, there is a prophet like Moses alive today. His name is Thomas S. Monson. I love that we have a prophet today because I know God continues to speak to His children today as He did in the days of Moses. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He loves His children, and He will always be in communication with them. Show more Show less
