Hi I'm Brian

I race triathlons. I love movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student going into Math Education. My minor is in speech because I debated in high school. I'm hoping to be a debate coach but I figured majoring in math safer in finding a job. I just got engaged to a beautiful women and we are planning our wedding for April. I race in triathlons. It helps me stay fit and I love the cross training. I love working with the Boy Scouts of America. I've worked at Treasure Mountain Scout camp for 5 years. When I become a teacher I hope that I can work at a scout camp during the summers I have off.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but I continue because I know it's right. I live on my own and I don't have to go to church or live this life, but I do because it's true. Life certainly isn't easy and being Mormon doesn't make it easier. But I just know its right; it feels right. I know Christ is the Savior of the world and I feel this Church brings one closer to Christ than anything else on the Earth. We have prophets that lead us today; prophets just like Moses and John the Baptist. This isn't just the "Mormon Church," this is the Church of Jesus Christ. The same core principles and worship from God that was taught in every era of this Earth is taught here and now. I just know it's right.

How I live my faith

In my local church community I do research for genealogical records. The Church has a massive organization to seek out our ancestors connect everyone together because we believe that we are all brothers and sisters in God's family. So what I do is interpret the writing of old records and put them into a computer database so that others, when searching for their ancestors, can find that data using computer searches. It's easier than someone having to poor over the same documents I've already looked through. And it makes those records available to anyone online. We call this indexing. We have several "indexers" in our local church community. I also play the piano for some of our church meetings.
