Hi I'm Jilly

I'm a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I'm 29 years old, married to an amazing man, I worked my whole life until I became deathly ill and am now a homemaker which has been the greatest calling I have ever had. I was born and raised a Mormon, but didn't live the teachings until I was 21 years old. I come from a family that is the only Mormon family in an all catholic family. I have 4 siblings, and my mom and dad. You can read more about me on my blog. www.themormonhousewife.blogspot.com

Why I am a Mormon

Becoming mormon was a huge choice for me. I was raised with it's teachings in my home, but didn't want to live them until I started my own life. After living the ways of the world I realized how beautiful the Gospel really is, and how safe and protected it really keeps you. I'm mormon because for me I know it is the right choice, it makes me happy, it has given me an amazing husband, and family, and I feel better by living the Gospel principles. I'm happy, and that is why I know I made the right choice. One thing to remember is that the church is perfect. The church that God created is perfect, even if it's people are not. Try to not be offended by imperfect people and let the love and true divinity of our Lord and Savior bring you to the true church of God.

How I live my faith

Most of my friends are not members of my church, so I love to share my testimony with them on certain subjects whenever I get the chance. I love learning about their point of views and teaching them about mine. I love going to the temple and having my spirit lifted. I also love service. I find great joy in helping other people, because so many people helped me when I was so sick. I love that I have a chance to give back to them now. I love sharing my testimony with people through my blogs. I love it when I get a comment that someone can relate too. If I can touch even one person as I have been touched then I have succeeded. :) If you would like to check out my blogs you can search google for "The Strasburg Family" and "The Mormon Housewife".

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

I actually just wrote about this on my blog themormonhousewife.blogspot.com. Members of the church absolutely believe in grace, after all we can do. We must put for effort, and show faith, and prove to our Father in Heaven that we are sorry. That we are going to make a real effort to change and not sin again. After asking for forgiveness and showing your sincerity to never do that sin again (although we very well may do) our Father in Heaven sends his grace and our sin is forgotten, but it is not without us doing all we must do first. He sends grace when he knows we are serious and have a true desire to change. Show more Show less
