Hi I'm Jeff

I grew up in New Orleans. I'm a teacher. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is great and is very important to me. I love the outdoors, especially fishing, and anything to do with sports. I have been through some college and hope to be able to become an eye doctor in the future. I enjoy playing any type of game but mostly competitive games. Cajun cookin' is awesome!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon religion. Life was never a cake walk and many times it was pretty tough. Throughout my life I learned more of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. As I grew, I recognized how God played a role in my life. He was there when I needed Him. He was there when I was lonely, confused, and even when I felt like I did not deserve His love. He was there for me when no one else could be. Through His Spirit he taught me truth. I read the Book of Mormon. I learned of the prophet Joseph Smith. I knew God existed and was aware of me. But what good does just knowing about these things do? I prayed, honestly wanting to know if these things are true. I received my answer that they are, and I know that they are true. I knew all these things, but it still had not "clicked" in my mind. It was not until some time later that I became Mormon. I felt lower than low and that God could not love me. It was when I turned to my savior and redeemer - Jesus Christ - that I could feel how much love God had for me. It took time and effort on my part to turn my life around back towards Him. The blessings of His tender mercies is well worth it. When I knew that God and Christ loved me is when it "clicked". All the things He put in my path along the way finally came together and I was able to connect the dots. I saw how the scriptures, prayer, prophets, family, love all fit together. He has lead me here, I have followed, and that is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

Teaching and learning go hand-in-hand. As I help other people around me understand gospel topics I myself grow. I attend church each week. I try to find at least one opportunity to serve someone in the community or from the church congregation each day. Christ taught us to love and that is what I try to do.
