Hi I'm Mike

I live in Dallas. I have a wife and daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love running, Indian food, and playing with my daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel inside that this is the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Church, but my faith is not just a tradition to me. As I was growing up, I attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with my parents. While I was there, I could feel the Spirit telling me that what I was hearing was true. Whenever I read or listen to the words of the leaders of the Church, I feel the same way. I have read the Book of Mormon many times, and every time I read it I feel the Spirit telling me it's true.

How I live my faith

I go to church on Sundays with my family. I pray with my family and read the scriptures every day. I also visit the families I am assigned to home teach once a month and help my church friends when they move.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Mike
The atonement was the suffering Jesus Christ experienced in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross to pay for our sins and his resurrection from the dead. In addition to suffering for our sins, he also suffered all of the sickness, pain, and sadness that we experience in this life so that he would be able to sympathize with us and comfort us in whatever we are going through. Jesus Christ sacrificed his life and was resurrected so that we would all be resurrected after we die. He suffered for our sins so that we could be forgiven and obtain eternal life. All of us have committed sins that make us unworthy to dwell with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ after we die. If we repent, the atonement washes away our sins and makes us worthy to dwell with Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
