Hi I'm Matt

I'm an engineer who wants to change the world through clean technology. I'm a marathoner and mountain biker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently was sealed (married) in the temple to the love of my life. We love being together, and share a love of the outdoors. Two of our first dates were a hike to a waterfall and a mountain bike ride. We had so much fun that we decided to hang out more often. Before we got married, we decided to run a marathon together. We trained for the marathon all summer, and this fall we crossed the finish line together. It was really tough, but sharing this experience strengthened our relationship.

Why I am a Mormon

My father encouraged me to read the Book of Mormon when I was young, but I don't think I understood very much of what I read. A few years later, someone challenged me to pray about the Book of Mormon. I knelt down that night, and felt the spirit whisper to me that I already knew the book was a true book. As I went back to study the Book of Mormon and Bible as a teenager, I strengthened my gospel knowledge and built a testimony that there is a living prophet on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I love so many things about the church. I had the oppurtunity to serve a mission in Russia, where I met many strong converts to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also enjoyed church basketball, boy scouts, and primary activities growing up. Now, I enjoy teaching Sunday School classes and sharing my gospel knowledge with other members of my ward. I also love visiting members of my ward each month as a Home Teacher. A family that we visit just had twins, and they are very cute! We always enjoy spending time with such adorable little children.
