Hi I'm Alan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Our home is near three of our grown children. Other children live in three other states in the Western U.S. We love hiking, skiing and whitewater rafting. I've been retired from professional life as a banker/CPA since 2003 and love working outside at our cabin on an island near our home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was reared as a Mormon in a very non-Mormon environment. During high school, I attended more than 100 different churches and synagogues with other members of a community service group. This experience reinforced my profound faith in the need for modern-day revelation to guide church leaders. In short, God's children need a prophet just as in ancient times. I have found living prophets in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with authority to administer saving ordinances for me and my family. Their teachings instill confidence in a loving Heavenly Father who can inspire and direct my life, and in my Savior Jesus Christ who has made it possible for me to live eternally with Him and with my loved ones.

How I live my faith

I still live in a very non-Mormon environment but try to live an examplary Christian life. I volunteer in government and community service, have served as a lay leader in many capacities including service as bishop of our local congregation. I now assist the mission president in his effort to mobilize full-time missionaries and local members to make the message of the restored gospel available to all who will respond.
