Hi I'm Craig

I grew up in Utah, I'm a convert, a college student, I love to play basketball, hunting, fishing, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to play sports, especially basketball and golf. I love hunting, fishing, camping, and four-wheeling, and just being outdoors in general. I enjoy reading, especially the scriptures. I'm a college student that is fascinated by math, science and technology. I've been plumbing with my dad since I was little. I was never really taught about God growing up, but was always afraid of him. Family is something that is extremely important to me, and was always something my dad taught me about. Right now I have the opportunity to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and help others get on the path to being with their family for eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I was never taught about God growing up, but at a young age I began to see all the "coincidences" in my life, and I decided that it couldn't all be by chance. My parents were both members of the church, but we didn't attend frequently, so I never learned much. About the time I was 17 my mom decided she wanted to get back to church, and was determined to take us with her. As I attended church over the next few months, the questions that had been swirling in my head, and that kept developing as I learned more and more were always answered. I felt a sincere desire to continue going so that I could learn, because I wanted to know all that I could. I thought that what I was learning must be right, and was determined to continue. Eventually I realized that I had never really come to know that this was true, so I became determined to do so. I remember one night as I was praying, I sat in silence having asked if it indeed was true, and felt an unusual feeling that I was not accustomed to. The next day I was reading in the Book of Mormon, and I came across a passage that described perfectly that feeling that had come over me the night before, and I felt this wave of warmth and peace wash over me. I understood then, that I had felt the Spirit answer my question the night before, and I knew then that the things that I had been taught were true.

How I live my faith

I love sharing the gospel! I also strive every day to study from the scriptures, and learn all that I can about the Savior so I can try to follow his perfect example. As I learn I try to practice the things the Savior taught so that I can return to live with him one day. I pray often to stay close to my Father in Heaven, and I take every opportunity that I can to teach others the things that I learn about the gospel because I love it!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Craig
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the sacrifice that Christ made for us. It includes his suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, his Crucifixion, and his Resurrection. Because of the Fall of Adam, all mankind became capable of physical death, and sin. Through the Atonement Christ made it possible for us to be cleansed of our sins through repentance, and he overcame death so that we will be resurrected after we die. Because of the Atonement we can become clean and free from sin and return to presence of our Father in Heaven where we may enjoy Eternal Life. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Craig
We have to make a stand for the Lord, and be willing to bear persecution without giving up or backing down. We must live righteously, and strive to help others do so while we try to make the world a better place in our homes, communities, and country. We should discourage all production, distribution, or viewing of such material. Show more Show less
