Hi I'm Spencer

I'm an athlete, a thrill junky, a bit of a nerd and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sports consumed my life growing up! I love being acitve and being in the outdoors. I love to play a bit of everything like football, baseball, basketball, rugby, and even got involved with competition cheerleading. I have also enjoyed snowboarding, paintballing, wakeboarding, and really anything that gets your heart racing! My biggest weakness is ice cream, I can wiggle my ears, I sitll love pokemon, and my motto is "no regrets". I'm 21 years old and love my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but never really understood the significance of what I had. The realization of what I was truely apart of came over a long period of time. It all began when I started seriously studying the Book of Mormon. When I started doing that, Saten worked even harder on me, blasting me with anti material and putting me in situations where I was quite shaken in my testimony. It was at that point when I needed a sure knowledge if this was all true. A part of me almost did not want it to be true because of the sacrifices and high standards members of the church commit to living. As I was taught all growing up, "the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion". I knew that if the book was true then everything else was true as well. It was either 100% from God, and this is His one and only true and living church on the face of the whole earth, or it was not. So I put it to the test. I studied for days and pleaded with God to tell me if what I had been taught all growing up is real, to tell me if the Book of Mormon is true, and if this is His only church. Then one day as I was reading, the Spirit overcame me so powerfully that I could not deny the feelings and impressions that were being placed upon my soul at that time. The feelings of complete peace, comfort, joy, and understanding flooded my entire body without restraint. It was an experience that I will never forget. I was first spritually converted to the gospel and then I was converted logically. The point I am at now is one of complete assurance as to the reality and divinity of the Book of Mormon and The Church of Jeus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I can now say I know for myself that Jesus is the Christ, that we have a loving Heavenly Father who watches over us, and that the church I have grown up believing is the literal kingdom of God on the earth. I also know that Joseph Smith was called of God Himself, to restore to the earth the fulness of the everlasting gospel.

How I live my faith

Right now I am on a two year mission in North Georgia, and I love it! I get to spend 24-7 teaching the truth about God. I have tried all my life to help everyone feel included and treat them the way Christ would have. I live my faith by being an example, by living what I teach.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Eternal Life is the greatest gift our Father in Heaven has to give to us as His children. It is the ultimate goal of all those who have come to the earth. We know that one who recieves this greatest of all gifts will live in a state of having and knowing complete joy. You will live forever with a glorified and perfected body in the presence of God the Father and the Son. We know a mariage performed in the house of the Lord (a temple) will last forever and have no end. You will enjoy eternal progression with your spouse and be able to continue on as a family. The greatest of all blessings are gained as one lives worthy and inherits eternal life. Show more Show less
