Hi I'm Carl

I'm a psychologist. I'm an actor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy Science-Fiction. I studied and performed music and theatre in High school and in college. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. I write a blog for other 'reluctant entrepreneurs'. I am married and very much in love.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon initially because it is the faith of my family. I remain Mormon because the doctrines continue to make more sense--and to make sense of this often senseless existence. The official tenets of 'Mormonism' beg to be challenged and tried and tried-out at every turn, not just blindly accepted and followed, and they pass with flying colors.

How I live my faith

My faith is not just where I spend a few hours on Sundays; it infuses my entire approach to life and search for truth. As a student of the sciences and the arts, reason and faith guide my inquiries; I strive to share the empirical and the transcendental evidences for my choices. I hope that my intended and unintended example invites and encourages others to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That said... I try to remember that my time alive is brief but purposeful--that no frivolity or temporary satisfaction is worth the potential eternal consequences. I try to 'see' myself and everyone around me as one of God's children--whom He loves with perfect and infinite love. Having thus treated them the way Christ would have us treat one another in my mind, it's easy to treat them similarly in actuality. I daily read and study and treasure up the words of prophets ancient and modern to invite the Holy Spirit to attend me; I strive to follow their counsel that I may have the constant companionship and invaluable guidance of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:19). I pray formally and informally throughout the day to align my will with my Heavenly Father's, as he has my ultimate best interest at heart. I endeavor to let my guiding principles influence every role in my life, at home and at work and recreating, in public as well as in private. I am deeply faithful and committed to my wife in thought and deed.
