Hi I'm Amelia,

I'm a diy fanatic, love the Ohio State Buckeyes, love being married and raising 3 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently raising three boys with my husband, Sam. I love hanging out with them and doing things with them. Its always an adventure. I also recently renovated my kitchen and living room. I love to work with tools and learn new things. I like to repurpose things and give new life to castoffs. Its brings a lot of satisfaction to make a piece of trash turn into something beautiful and purposeful. I am also currently serving as my church's Relief Society President. It is an organization for women. Our purpose is to help and care for one another. We also learn from one another. It is a wonderful organization to be a part of! Love it!

Why I am a Mormon

At first I was a Mormon because my mom dragged me to church every Sunday. My parents separated when I was 10 years old. This had a profound effect on me. I needed to find something solid to base my life on as I felt like my foundation had been destroyed or fake. I realized as a teenager I needed to make the decision on my own and needed to commit or quit. I began to pray and to study out if this church was a good thing or not. I read from the Book of Mormon to learn what it might contain for me. I found the love of the Savior for me there. I realized that my Father in Heaven knows me very personally and will help lead and guide me. I found that the Savior is true and faithful and will never waiver. I'm thankful for the path that I chose. I know that this is the church of God. I know that through our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can repent and return to live as families in heaven. I am thankful for the knowledge that families can be together forever and not just until death do us part. This gospel has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and has brought me blessings and deep, lasting joy in my heart that I will forever be thankful for.

How I live my faith

To me, it is a daily inward commitment to follow our Savior. I try to do this by visiting those in need. I participate in the women's organization of the church known as the Relief Society. I am the president and we meet weekly to talk about the needs of our women and how to help them. We are all unpaid volunteers. I live my faith in quiet. I know the Lord loves me and so I try to treat others the way the Lord would. I serve others when I can, I listen, and I pray daily for inspiration and guidance from God.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Amelia,
Our bodies are called temples because they house our spirits and can let the Holy Ghost into our lives. We need to take care of our bodies so that we can listen to the Holy Ghost. Have you ever noticed how much harder it is to be nice when you're sick? It's hard to do anything. So we take care of our bodies to keep us alert to what God would have us do like Daniel form the Old Testament. Show more Show less
