Hi I'm Stuart

I'm a husband, father, and I'm training to become an Air Force pilot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Oregon doing everything I could outside. I served a Mandarin Chinese speaking mission to Taiwan, and when I returned home met my wife while we were in college together. We have two beautiful children who stress us out, but bring more joy than I could have imagined into our lives. I am living a dream as I am currently studying to become an Air Force pilot. Balancing my training with my family is difficult, but my wife and I support each other in our responsibilities as parents. Our family is the greatest source of happiness in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a third generation Mormon. I was born into an active Mormon family and we have always attended church. In growing up in the church I was blessed to have the gospel taught to me from a young age. Although I have always been a member of the church, I was encouraged to search out truth for myself so that I would know the validity of the gospel I lived. I do know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. In order to give us hope, direction, and make available His gospel again He restored His authority and church through the prophet Joseph Smith Jr. The Book of Mormon brings clarity and light to the world concerning the teachings of the Savior. The Book of Mormon contains the word of God to us as Heavenly Father's children on the earth collectively and individually. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us. I have a personal relationship with them and love them dearly. The greatest blessing in my life besides the atonement of Jesus Christ for our sins is the blessing of being able to live with my wife forever. Because of Christ's restored church and authority to the earth I will always have my wife with me. Our children will always be our children. Death itself cannot separate them from us. Throughout eternity we will be a family. Family members pass on while new children will be born in the future, but we will all be together forever because of the blessings of the church given to us through the Savior. I continue to live the gospel because it brings me joy in my everyday life. My stressful days are easier, my wife is happier, and we are happier as a couple going through college together. No other method could be more effective in giving me greater joy every day than living the gospel as best I can.

How I live my faith

Every day I pray to my Father in Heaven. He has guided my life, and led me down unexpected paths to where I am today. I never grew up hoping to fly or join the military, but today I find myself learning how to do just that in a military environment. As a result of following the guidance of my Heavenly Father, our family is happier, stronger, and closer than we could be otherwise. My wife and I serve together in our home teaching our children, and we serve in the youth organization at church teaching young men and women about the gospel. Seeing these adolescents grow, and find answers for themselves as they study is extremely rewarding. I can't imagine a happier life than the one I have been blessed with, trials and all.
