Hi I'm Sydney

...And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old and I'm an office manager at a small trash company. I am attending college as a pre-graphic design major. I enjoy a challenge, I get great satisfaction from a job well done, and I make a mean chocolate chip cookie. I love to try new things and also enjoy the warm comforts of home: fuzzy socks and a warm fire. I get very stubborn if you tell me I can't do something, and I can usually prove you wrong. I have 3 siblings and two amazing parents. I dearly love my family--we can get loud and obnoxious (sometimes my fiancee just has to sit back and let us get at each other), but we all giggle and laugh as we talk over one another. I am excited to start the next step in life and be married to the man I love--so we can have our own loud family! Family is so important to me, and I want to teach my future children to always stand up for something. I'm really just a regular girl--a regular girl who believes in something.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I know that what I believe is true. I grew up in the church, but I came to a point in my life where I wondered if what I had been taught in my life was true. I think everyone gets to that point-- and I think everyone deserves an answer. That's what is so beautiful about the gospel of Jesus Christ. God will give you the answers you seek, if you ask in faith. James 1:5 states: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." At that point in my life, I stopped listening to all the voices of people around me--and started listening to the one I could trust. I prayed to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true...And you know something? He answered.

How I live my faith

Just by standing for something. So often people go with the "flow." Sometimes, you have to step back and think--"Is this the right thing to do?" You'll stop yourself from making a lot of unnecessary mistakes! So don't be afraid to stand for something. In the words of a country song: "You have to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything."

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Sydney
Every Mormon comes from different walks of life, just like regular people. The gospel of Jesus Christ, and our standards, is what unites us as a whole. The gospel is one of constant progression, and it brings such happiness! True satisfaction comes from pushing yourself to a higher standard. Live stronger, stand taller, and always strive to be the best you can. Show more Show less
