Hi I'm Suzzie

I am a wife. I am a student. I am a credit analyst for an international technology company. I am Mormon

About Me

I am a student studying economics and I could not love it more. I recently married an incredible man and the two of us are having tons of fun building our home. We are both still students, so who knows what the future has in store for us, but I am sure it will be full of adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

This is a very good question. And one that has received a lot of personal pondering. Why am I Mormon? Simply because the church is true and I know I have a loving Savior who cares for me as an individual and who continually causes miracle after miracle to happen in my life. How I know this is a completely different, yet equally important question. Because, at some point in time, every LDS individual must learn for him or herself the truth of the Gospel. I know this Gospel is true because I have lived by the precepts that are taught. I have felt my broken heart become healed and filled with joy. I have seen amazing miracles of changes within myself and others. I have felt joy fill my soul, even in difficult times. I put the teachings of this church to the test, by studying scriptures, praying, even having a certain amount of skepticism, thoroughly questioning what was taught, and evaluating the results of each act of faith, of each time I purposely chose to follow the teaching of this church. I know that this church is true because, although there is still much I don't understand, and have yet to learn, every piece of knowledge gained has come with a great increase in my peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

Being LDS is a way of life. This gospel teaches us to honestly love others and to treat each person as the child of our Heavenly Father which he or she is. Sometimes its difficult, and I am so far from perfect, but I am continually improving. I live my faith by seeing the amazing blessing that God has given me. The world is beautiful and he created it for us, for me. I live my faith by communicating with my Savior each and every day, and feeling his love and support for me every time I kneel in prayer. And lastly, I live my faith by seeking to know more, from reading scriptures and listening to our Prophet who leads and guides us today.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Suzzie
It is easy to focus on Mormons can't ... (fill in the blank.) We do live a different lifestyle than many other people. We have been given a commandment in the Doctrine and Coventents section 89 to refrain from these things. We are also given a promise that as we follow this commandment, we will be blessed with health. In my experience, every time I follow the commandments given by prophets in the scriptures or current prophets my life improves in some way. Personally, I follow this commandment out of faith that we are asked not to do these things so that we ma protect our bodies and keep them healthy. I believe that my body is sacred and want to take care of it every way I can. If that means refraining from addictive or harmful substances, no matter how common or insignificant they might seem, I will. Show more Show less
