Hi I'm Sam

I was born and raised in the Pacific. I've been on Robotics & track teams, won some island art awards and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm someone who loves to create. Be it music, pictures, stories, and pretty much any arts and craft. My passion is movie making, which to me is a combination of all these things. Its been awesome to be able to direct little films and things with friends. I've been involved with many clubs and teams through out my schooling, especially high school. I loved being on the Robotics team most of all. It was awesome to build something and see it work and move. I'm heading to college in a couple of months, and I'm excited for that. Being in school has always been fun, even though homework is sometimes tough. I'm hoping to major, big surprise, in movie making. I hope that if I just keep going and sticking to my faith that's helped me be a person who I feel good about, I'll be able to succeed.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I know its true. Its been there even though others may make fun or point and accuse. I've never had every answer to every question, in fact, I have very little when it comes to doctrinal answers. What I have is what I've felt when I gave it a chance. I'm not saying I been able to have visions, and see angels. I haven't had a huge manifestation or anything like that, but simple things, like the feeling I have when I hear what happened to Joseph Smith. What I feel when I have the opportunity to read the Book of Mormon. I know we all may have heard some crazy things, but really, if you want to know, find out, and find out from the source. If the Book of Mormon is true, I have not better idea then to check it out, not from some website or anything like that, but from the Book itself. If you do that, I promise you its going to make everything change, and for the better. I know that its true, and I feel it every day, and I hope it will be more read by others who, really, "just want to know". Thats why I'm a mormon. I know its true.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm getting my feet back & planted into the congregation I grew up attending. Last week I spoke in the ward about my experinces sharing the Gospel with others. While between Sundays and church attendance, I work at the local Temple, where sacred ordinaces are performed for our ancestors and we feel the power of the Holy Ghost more fully in our lives. I love reading the scriptures, and then sitting back and thinking abou them. Its amazing what a little thought can do to bring the words of God to life. More answers have come and more knowledge is gained that way. Its truely incredable to think that they are right there, always ready to be read and feasted on. I love praying with my parents, and individually at night, and in the morning. When people ask, I love to share what I've expereinced, and what I've learned from being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and it helps me strengthen my own conviction of Christ as I do so. I think is just so awesome how doing those simple things: reading and praying everyday, and sharing the gospel, can being happiness and peace in your life. I love it!

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

We do not practice Polygamy now, but it was practiced in the earlier days of the church. It was something that was revealed to Joseph Smith as a law that is lived at times according to the commandments of the Lord. He didn't invent it, or even bring it about on his own. Even in the Old Testament, Prophets had multiple wives, and obviously it was okay. When the Lord institutes it, it must be followed because the Lord is commanding us to do it. When he decides to revoke the law, then it is revoked. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Of course! It just makes sense! We always hear of the ancient cultures in America talk about the "white God who promised he would return", being called some intense long name. So many cultures have that. It just makes sense that if Jesus Christ, the savior of the world, really did what he did, FOR THE WORLD, then he would make it known to the world, and not just now, but back then too. I'm sure he had the power to do that. Who is to say he didn't or couldn't? He is the Savior, the Son of God. He had the power to do all things. I believe that he would minister to more then just the few (compared to the world) in Isreal, then keep his words and works confined to a small portion of the world. Why not? Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by prophets who lived in ancient America, and spans over a 1000 years of history, recounting the dealings of God to the people of the land. All the records or "journals" were gathered together and then summarized or "abridged" into one book by the last prophet-historian named Mormon, then later his son Moroni. That is why it is called The Book of Mormon, since he is the principle prophet who put it all together. He did it because 1 the Lord commanded him to do so and 2 so we could read in one book all that happened to his people and others and learn from their experiences, both good and bad.
