Hi I'm Lee

.. I'm a Joburger, a dancer,a wife and a mother in the making..and yeah u guessed it.. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Johannesburg, South Africa (can i get a J-burg... haha) and I am blessed with a sweet big family from all around the world and i'm my mommas's baby. Family means the world to me and everything I do honestly rotates around the happiness and well being of the people i love. I work in administration. I love working with people. I love seeing something come out of nothing. I love seeing ideas become a reality and unfold. I don't lead though I coach..:-) Coach the people that have the talent to make those ideas a reality. What is that saying... "those that can't dance teach" Talk about dancing...I love dancing, with a passion! Music moves me and since well I can't paint or draw as well as many to express myself I just find the beat and let the rhythm go through my body and I just loose myself to the music. It works great for keeping in shape too..lol I love the outdoors and living life. If there is anything to be tried out I’ll always be the first. Jumping off bridges with a rope around my waist..lol (done by professionals of course) cliff diving (overcome my fears) a dish with a name no one in the room can pronounce. I believe you are mortal once and it is a gift to experience all the good things your senses can. More especially if they bring you closer to GOD. I love traveling. There is beauty all around and no matter where we are all things(especially nature) denotes that there is a GOD.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not born in a perfect family.. lol I guess no one is really. But I had a lot of struggles as a child. They left me yearning for a knowledge of my true nature. I had experiences that no one could explain. Questions that no one could answer. It left me with a lot of confusion, but also with a hope that there was something out there higher than I was because i wasn't raised in any faith or religion. I think my father was an atheist..well i dunno his beliefs where a little strange an i didn't agree with them. When I found the gospel it changed me. It changed my heart. It didn't take away all the problems my little life had brought me but it gave me an un-ending source of help, comfort, understanding and answers. I know the things I know are true because my life, my heart and the spirit reflect it not only to me but to the world. Every beautiful blessing in my life from my ever growing amazing family to knowing my true and divine identity, came into my life because of and through the gospel. I know that i am a daughter of God. There is nothing the wotld can give me that can beat that. I am so much more than the world taught me to think i was. I live the gospel because it is my source of peace and joy. In all the things I have done in my life, in all the place I have been none of them bring the real and lasting love, peace and happiness that living the simple principles of Christ's gospel does. The gospel is true, it has given me thee greatest blessing in my life, a family that loves me and a warm heart. I know that nothing will give me anything more than the gospel does and eternally will.

How I live my faith

Well right now I have dedicated my life to serving in a foreign country...lol funny thing is I bet you thought "OH...CHINA?!?!" as you read that but it ain’t that exciting...lol kidding! It very much is! I am serving in Georgia in the US (The Georgia Atlanta Mission/GAM). Now I know you are thinking "what??? There are people who don't know Christ everywhere else and people that need help more than people in the US do!" But you see I didn't choose to be here. I chose to serve, and the Prophet (we believe that Christ has called a man to be a prophet today like those in the days of Noah , and we believe that there are men called to be 12 apostles. Given the same power and authority Christ gave to his original apostles in Jerusalem.) called me to where Heavenly father knew my talents would bless the people the most. Our missionary purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ. Plus no matter whom we are or what our relationship is with Christ... till the day we put our arms around him we can always come closer. So even though I am out here helping others to come unto Christ as I do I come closer to him too. We all need (faith in) Christ, no matter who we are or what we believe.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Lee
As a missionary currently serving in the Bible belt (Georgia Atlanta Mission) It has often times come from people that believe they are "strong in their" faiths :-). My answer to them has always been. We are brothers and sisters. No man is an island and God does not expect us to make it back home all on our own. One of the missions of the church is to "strengthen the saints". Strengthen the believer. I personally believe that all man can always come closer to Christ, till the day comes that we have our arms around him and we can thank him in person. Our missionary purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them to receive his restored gospel. Through first faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement. Second- repentance. Third - Baptism by immersion. Fourth - Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands and Lastly - Enduring to the end! If Mormon missionaries didn't proselyte people like me wouldn't know the gospel or Christ. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Lee
If anyone can tell what women as c collective are like in general please give me a shout. lol Mormon women like women everywhere are individuals. We are all different depending on our personal circumstances. Read my profile. I bet that is not your typical first expectation of what a latter day saint woman is supposed to be right!!lol.. See told you. We are all different. I'll tell you this though. We are set apart from the world by our strong believe in our identity as literal daughters of GOD. In fact we believe that all humans are chosen children of GOD. We choose to love and respect other people as well. The fact that we know that we are not our own… that our bodies are temples of God and that God owns all of us is one of the main reasons most Latter Day saint women choose to stay at home and raise their children. The world teaches us that we are less than we really are as people. A good mother instills the truth, that we are so much more than we believe in their child. We uphold our divine nature. Because of this strong believe Mormon women choose to treat their bodies and themselves in a respectful and modest manner. We dress in a way that shows our respect for our bodies as a temple of God. This doesn't mean we don't have a sense of fashion ;-) but we do not use our bodies for attention. Latter day saint men and women are equal. Men and women have different roles in God's plan. But all are just as important as the other. We believe that a man cannot "be" without a woman nor a woman without a man... Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Lee
Protection, guidance, comfort, love, patience, peace.... These are some of the few. All people feel the Holy Ghost in their lives every now and then.... but when you are baptised we choose to receive him through the laying on of hands as our constant companion... these feelings and blessings are there continously. No matter what we are going through. :-) He is our very own compass, light and protection. From ourselves, the world and Satan. He is an amazing source of strength. A way that we see how much heavenly father cares for us and wants to very muchly be a part of our everyday lives. From work, to school, to our hearts desires and everything else that impacts us.
