Hi I'm Cammie.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mom of three little boys that keep me busy! I really enjoy it, though. My husband and I love creating music -- singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. As kids have entered our life, I have discovered that I am also enjoying creating anything that has to do with home -- cleaning, cooking, interior design, sewing, gardening, teaching, organizing. I also love nature and exercise.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Church. I grew up in it, and the longer I live the more I appreciate it. There have been so many experiences that have let me know that it is our Savior's Church. I'll share one -- the first time I read the Book of Mormon by myself. I was fourteen. I resolved that I wanted to know for myself whether or not it is true. Each day I would come home from school, immediately go to my room, close the door, and kneel in prayer to ask Heavenly Father for His Spirit to teach me truth. I would read for thirty minutes, then kneel again in prayer. It wasn't long before I realized that I was anxiously looking forward to this period of each day. I loved how I felt when I read. My heart and brain felt like they were growing so much that they would pop -- that's the only way I can think to describe it. I felt so smart, so much love, and happiness. Daily I was receiving answers to prayers in my reading. Before long, I was in the middle of the Book of Mormon, in a part where a prophet, Alma, is trying to help people learn how they can know if something is true. I read these words: "Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves--It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me (Alma 32:28)." This was exactly how I felt! I was feeling these swelling motions, God was enlightening my understanding, and it WAS so delicious. I knew then that I knew the Book of Mormon is true, and as I continued to read and finish the Book, and in subsequent years of reading, that witness has been confirmed over and over.

How I live my faith

We have moved around a lot during our years of marriage, but everywhere we go, there are always loving people and opportunities to help. In the various places we've lived, we have taught the youth, we've taught young single adults, I have taught the children, and in every location, I have been a visiting teacher -- which means that I am given a list of a handful of women to befriend, visit each month, and watch over to make sure that they and their families has everything that they need, temporally and spiritually.
