Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in Indiana and hope to be a history teacher when I finish college. I'm legit. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying History Teaching at a university. I love doing things outdoors like hiking and camping and playing sports, especially basketball and football. I love relaxing and having a good time with the people most important to me. I believe that laughing is the best thing you can make people do.

Why I am a Mormon

Ancestors on both my mom and dad's side of the family traveled across the United States with the early Mormon settlers, but continuing in the path my parents taught me has been my own choice. As a teenager I often had doubts about whether or not what my parents were teaching me is true. I always tried to find holes in what I was taught. Many times the explanations I received from Sunday School teachers didn't quench my thirst for a real knowledge of what was true. I believed that the scriptures should hold all the answers I needed. As I read in the scriptures I always felt like the Lord was guiding me. I never had an experience that explicitly told me what I was reading was true, but over the course of a few years, my convictions gradually became stronger through life's experiences and dedicated reading. By following the teachings of Christ found in the Book of Mormon and the Bible I receive great rest to my soul. I find that I am not worried about the future because I can rely on him and have the confidence that everything will work out in the end.

How I live my faith

I currently attend a church congregation that consists only of young single adults with the exception of some of the leaders. I am currently assigned to organize activities during the week that foster the growth of friendship within our church congregation. I spend a lot of time getting to know people better and trying to help everyone fit in. I love trying to help everyone feel loved and accepted. I absolutely love trying to get quiet people to come out of their bubble and have fun. I also spend time teaching a classroom of missionaries who are preparing to teach the gospel in Spanish to those in other countries. This is one of the most rewarding experiences I've had.
