Hi I'm Rod

I'm a Mormon. I'm from Idaho near Jackson Hole and West Yellowstone. Summer sun and deep snow and family are my choices.

About Me

My name is Rod. I work in the insurance industry as an agent and have done so since 1986. I went to high school and then graduated from college in business. My family consists of 4 daughters and one son. My wife and I have been married since the early 80's. I have many hobbies and love sports. I help coach my children's basketball, soccer, and football teams. I have coached school teams. I love golf, snowboarding, boating and almost any sport with a ball. Our family loves to travel and have visited many states and countries. We live in a modest home with modest needs and love to spend time with our children and friends. I have served in the community and professional organizations and see civic duty as a privilege. We are a normal family with normal goals and ambitions but love to be with each other. I now have grandchildren and love to be with them. Had I known how much fun they are to be around I would have had them first.

Why I am a Mormon

We believe our family is eternal. I live my life every day so that I may spend forever with my good wife and children. We attend church every Sunday and we pray for and as a family daily. We read the scriptures together as a family and each week we set aside a night to talk about virtues that may improve our lives along with a treat and a fun activity. I know our family is closer because of these simple activities we do and the worship we bring from the church into our home. We believe in Jesus Christ and His good works and example that is stated in the scriptures. It is wonderful to have members of your family pray for each other in his holy name. We believe in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to know the truth and have felt the Holy Spirit testify that what we read and what we do are what our Heavenly Father would have us do while we are away from His presence. We believe that we will all return to live with Him someday if we have been obedient to the commandments and have received the proper ordinances. I love to follow a prophet and believe he knows what is best for my family during these trying times. I have felt in my heart that this is the restored church of Jesus Christ and that through its teachings we can have eternal families together in heaven. I know that anyone that wants to know this can receive personal answers to prayer that this is so....just like I did. I leave this as a personal witness as to its truth in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to be engaged civically, professionally, and with the church and to be a light on a hill for good. I am not perfect but continually stive to do better. I have served as chairman of my political party, education foundation chairman, industry president for the local and state chapter but the my most cherished service I have done is with the church. I have served as a young mens leader, scouting leader, teacher, and bishop in my local congregation. I am assigned several families that I have stewardship over and visit monthly to make sure they are ok. Now I have been asked to serve as an area leader and have the opportunity to speak at different congragations each month during church services. This is a scary thing for me but I love the Lord and know he will make weak things strong if I do my part. I have been asked to be a husband and parent and take these assignments from the Lord seriously. No matter what I have been asked to do I find great joy in serving and helping others if I can.
