Hi I'm Iain

I grew up in England and am now a professor in the US. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After moving to California when I was 9, I met some great friends who introduced me to the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I moved on to high school, I joined the track and cross country teams and continued running for Brigham Young University while I worked on a math education and coaching degree. After teaching in high school, I continued on to get a PhD in Health and Human Performance. Now, I am a professor of sport biomechanics. This has been a great opportunity for me. I'm now able to enjoy teaching while I study the mechanics of running.

Why I am a Mormon

I met many wonderful friends in school when I was young. I attended many activities with them at church and really enjoyed the social aspect of the church. At one point, I began meeting with the missionaries to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. They asked me to read parts of The Book of Mormon. I did this a few times, but did not understand much of what I was reading due to the language not being familiar to me. However, one evening I was alone in my bedroom reading and felt a strong spirit letting me know what I was reading and learning was true. I've had so many faith building experiences throughout my life since then and looking back, know that the decision to be baptized was the right one.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving people in my area by helping with spiritual and physical needs. There are a few families and individuals that I visit regularly to help them make it through the struggles that come in life. I also do a lot of volunteer work to help in our community.
