Hi I'm Cathy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Retired from state government, I am the wife of a Bishop, mother of six grown children, and grandmother of thirteen. I teach early morning seminary classes and enjoy my newest hobby, genealogy research. I love to travel to historic sites and learn about other cultures, religions, and practices.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my entire life. I don't know what my life would be like without it, but I know it wouldn't be as happy or complete as it is now. It gives me purpose and comfort to know where I came from before I was born, why I am here on earth, and where I am going when I die. The gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me in my relationships with my family, friends and colleagues. Following its tenents and being a disciple of Christ is a way of life for me I wouldn't trade for anything. Not anything.

How I live my faith

I enjoy teaching religious classes to high school age youth in the early morning hours before school and helping them apply biblical scripture in their lives. I also regularly visit several women in my local church with a spiritual message and give them encouragement and help. I enjoy attending church services every Sunday to renew my commitments to living a Christian life and listen and learn from other Latter-day Saints by participating in classes and activities that increase my testimony of the Savior. I assist my husband in his church responsibilities and encourage my children and grandchildren to be faithful disciples of Christ.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Cathy
God has revealed that certain substances, such as coffee, tea, alcohol, and tobacco are not good for our bodies. By living this law I have been blessed with a healthy body and mind. I have seen first hand how addiction to any of these substances affects people physically and spiritually. God's commandments are meant to bless and protect us, and I know the Word of Wisdom has done this for me. Show more Show less
