Hi I'm Paula
I'm a College Student, a Single Mom, a Volunteer and I'm a Mormon!
I'm a single mom of 5 kids. My kids and I have a very close bond--we've been through a lot together. I have one daughter and four sons. We are very active in Boy Scouts of America. I will be finishing my degree that I started 25 years ago, so that I can work in BSA professionally. My oldest 2 kids are also BYU students. My oldest son is on a deferment to be a missionary in Michigan. I like to spend time with my kids playing basketball, board games, hiking, etc. We also enjoy music we are in the church choir together and doing service projects together.
Why I am a Mormon
The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me faith and hope through my trials and challenges. It is my foundation. It provides a way to live to be the best person I can be! We have a health code and a standard of conduct that also helps us to be healthy and live the best life that we can have! Through reading and studying the scriptures and through prayer, I feel that I'm able to have a relationship with both Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that I couldn't get any other way. We believe that families can be together forever, not just in this life. The Lord has provided a way that we can live with him again if we are faithful here on earth. That gives me great hope!
How I live my faith
The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me faith and hope through my trials and challenges. We are here to be tested, to develop characteristics that bring us closer to being the person the Lord wants us to be. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my foundation. It provides a way to live to be the best person I can be! I believe that families can be together forever, not just in this life. The Lord has provided a way that we can live with him again if we are faithful here on earth. That gives me great hope! We all develop our own personal relationship with the Lord. Jesus Christ is our Savior. I do my best to set a good example of faith to my children. I teach my kids to put their Duty to God/Faith in God first in their life. We pray and read/study scriptures together daily. We serve others together--especially each other. But, it's more than that--it's how we treat other people and how we live our daily life. I serve in whatever capacity I can. I give 110% to life--whatever I can. To touch the lives of those that are in my life. Some are in my life for a brief time. However, we have influence on everyone we come in contact with. I'm happy. I want to share that happiness with others. Friendship is important. No matter what I do in my life at this time, the most important thing I do is being a mom--I believe that they most important work I will ever do is in my home. I spend time with my kids. I teach them the Gospel, different aspects about life, etc. I believe that this is the most important way that I live my faith--being the best person I can be, being the best mom I can be! At some point, I hope to have the opportunity to be a wife again. There is joy in a really good marriage. My priorities will change, but my children will always be a very important part of my life and the life to come. Life is what you make it. We all have choices. I choose to love and serve the Lord by serving others--especially my family.
